How to Spray Chalkboard Paint?

Chalkboard Paint

Spray painting on a chalkboard can ad loads of style to your kitchen, learning possiblities to your child's bedroom and so much more.

Instruction:

Step 1
Decide where you want to spray your chalkboard paint. Measure with a level and decide on the dimensions. Use painters tape or masking tape to outline your chalkboard. I used newspaper to cover about 4 feet of surrounding wall area because the spray paint doesn't just stay in the taped off area, particles will fly! Since I made my chalkboard in the kitchen, I also covered everything else in the kitchen up with sheets, etc. The fine dust particles wash very easily, however, you do not want to breathe any of this. Make sure you have covered everything well in the area, ventilation is adequate and children and pets are not around.

Step 2
Once you have prepared properly you can begin spraying the chalkboard spray paint. To spray and get a nice even coat, you will want to keep a 10" distance and keep your hand moving in a sweeping motion side to side. If you need a second coat you need to spray right away or within the hour.

Step 3
The paint will dry to the touch pretty quickly, within 30 minutes. Do not write with chalk on the new chalkboard for at least 24-48 hours.
